The Japanese hotel and investment firm Metaplanet is now the 10th-largest corporate Bitcoin holder in the world after its latest BTC accumulation spree.

Metaplanet chief executive Simon Gerovich notes the firm purchased an additional 319 BTC worth $26.3 million at an average price of $82,549 per Bitcoin.

The firm now holds a total of 4,525 Bitcoin worth $382.58 million at time of writing.

The top-ranked crypto asset by market cap is trading at $84,675 at time of writing and is up nearly 1.5 in the past 24 hours.

Gerovich has said previously that he “worries every day” that the company doesn’t own enough Bitcoin.

“The window to buy won’t stay open forever. Soon, there will be two kinds of people: those who own Bitcoin and those who regret not buying it. At Metaplanet, we’re accumulating as much as we can so our shareholders can relax.”

The CEO also said late last month that he thinks more financial institutions will show interest in adopting BTC.

Metaplanet’s stock is down 10.92 in the past month but is up a staggering 1,229.63 in the past year, per data from MarketWatch.

The company aims to acquire 10,000 Bitcoin by the end of 2025 and 21,000 BTC by the end of 2026.

Metaplanet also continues to operate a Tokyo hotel, which it plans to renovate and rebrand into “the Bitcoin Hotel.”
